Re: Window 7 End of Life
I don't think i have any computers that uses Windows 7, but if a Windows version is reaching it's end of life, these are some of the things i consider:
- What Windows version do i upgrade to?
- Is the computer good enough to run a later version of windows?
- Does the new Windows version i want to install have the most important needed drivers, or does the vendor of the hardware in the computer have drivers that is compatible with the new version of Windows i am going to install?
- Are there any hardware in the computer that needs updating/replacement before installing a newer version of Windows?
- Is the software that i normally use on my computer compatible with the new version of Windows, if not, does there exist a software update there can fix that? If not, does similar or better software exits that i can use with the newer version of Windows?
That is some of the points i look for, before considering installing a newer version of Windows.

Re: Window 7 End of Life
Windows 7 registered users can still upgrade to 10 for free. If the physical machine can not support 10 then they have to look for other options.
I did my wife's computer a couple of months back and intend to do mine in the next month. This time I will keep detailed notes as the process has a quirk to keep a registered version.

Re: Window 7 End of Life
The one machine we have I don't think can be upgraded to Win10. I seem to remember when they first offered the free upgrade it didn't pass the test.
At least the user of that machine has had exposure to Win10 on the laptop ready for when the Win7 machine dies.
