Does Your Site Work without Scripting?

Post by Accrete »

Have you tested that your site works without scripting or at least degrades gracefully without scripting?

For testing purposes I have NoScript installed in my Firefox browser. This is so I know what will not work if the user arrives with NoScript installed, has scripting turned off for their own security reasons or is using an accessibility device/browser that does not support scripts.

When I learnt JavaScript we learnt to add the HTML <noscript></noscript> tag with help between those opening and closing tags for the user that couldn't run the JavaScript. I visit a LOT of sites that do not implement this set of HTML elements.

What if your script is hosted off site what happens if that off site host goes down? What is your backup plan?
