Re: World Health Organization declares coronavirus outbreak a 'pandemic'
Booster shot going into arms tomorrow. Or, if supply isn't available at that particular location, I've got another appointment scheduled at a different location on Monday - just in case. The pharmacies don't know how many doses they've got on hand since some people are just walking in for shots. Unfortunately, DW and I have to wait till afternoon tomorrow, which is the mandatory 6-month period since getting does #2.
We're expecting relatives from out west, so we have to be ultra immunized. Their province is one where Covid cases skyrocketed due to population vaccine avoidance, and also because their Premier "opened up" everything in that province without any restrictions, more than 5 months ago. This "opening" lead to a huge surge of cases that filled up all ICU beds in the province.
With no beds, they began shipping out Covid patients to our province - a province that just so happened to be (for the most part) following Covid protocols, thereby lowering Covid cases. SMH

Finding sources to get/buy rapid testing kits is like trying to find gold in a copper mine.
If you can ginf them online, the lowest charge is $45 for one kit of 5 tests. Or, you stand out in the cold for 4 hours (or longer) to get 1 free kit of 5 tests.

NP - glad you are getting the booster. I feel safer having the third shot, but am still limiting my excursions to "indoor" facilities to groceries and the pharmacy.

I am also limiting my outside time, mostly only go outside when i have to buy groceries and the pharmacy. I think i will wait to tomorrow to make the vaccine appointment. I am also glad to get the booster shot.

Just got my 3rd vaccine shot. Was invited to make an appointment to get the 3rd shot, but had a standard checkup appointment at my doctors clinic and they offered COVID-19 vaccination, so asked my doctor if he could give me the 3rd vaccine shot now i was there, and that was not a problem. That did make it easier for me . It looks like they have changed the name of the vaccine from Pfizer to Comirnaty.

I read that somewhere about the name change, but here, they're still calling in Pfizer. Interesting how easy your system was to get the third shot. Here, it took several weeks of watching, asking questions, planning and "bugging" the pharmacy staff, to finally get our names on the list and shots in arms about two weeks later.

Well, there properly was a bit of luck involved, my doctor just started to give those vaccines. So the timing was good . Since you properly got the 3rd vaccine shot some time ago, maybe the Pfizer name wasn't changed to Comirnaty at that time?.
