Fug Dord is contemplating extending "the lockdown" until at least June 2nd. I can safely say, he's cemented his loss in the next election.

A World Health Organization official said Monday it is reclassifying the highly contagious triple-mutant Covid variant spreading in India as a “variant of concern,” indicating that it’s become a global health threat....

and on top of that...
The increasing number of mucormycosis cases- a fungal infection, colloquially "black fungus"- among patients recovering from COVID-19 is being detected in some states. The Indian Council of Medical Research has issued an advisory after Dr. VK Paul, member NITI Aayog mentioned about the existence of the rare, fungal infection. However, Dr Paul said that it is very uncommon among patients who do not have diabetes....

Well, it's May 15th, temps are on the rise in the weather, and in the province's population. People here are beside themselves in finding out Premier Fug Dord is extending the "stay at home" measures into June.

Why does he want to extend the stay at home measures? Well, it's details and complicated data that they assembled. In a news press conference on TV, here's the explanation of the reasoning Fug uses...
Fug Dord: “I talk to my buddies, I know what happens. You know, they pick up another buddy, two or three, they go golfing, and there’s nothing wrong with golfing, the problem is the mobility. Then after the golf they go back, they have a few pops, that’s the problem. That’s the issue.”

Here's how the writer of the articles responds to hearing Fug's research data...
So let’s get this straight. A province of almost 15 million people has been banned from participating in healthy outdoor activities, in spite of the overwhelming advice of medical and scientific experts that it’s good for them, because Doug Ford’s buddies can’t control themselves enough to resist “a few pops” after their golf game.
And goes on further to say...
If I were one of the premier’s buddies I wouldn’t be very pleased with him right now, having been publicly outed as an irresponsible oaf too clueless to drive solo to the golf course, or to return home afterwards without pounding pops in the parking lot. Nor would I be grateful for having been pinpointed as the reason the rest of the province has to stew away without access to healthy exercise for at least another three weeks, and possibly longer, because the premier can’t differentiate between his buddies and the larger population of responsible citizens.

Most restrictions including the mask mandate end here on 6-11.

I think we are about 40% vaccinated and the remaining do not seem interested. I could solve that problem in the SE part of the state. If they passed out free oxy or meth with each injection they would be lines miles long. :)

Latest here in the legislature, is that the Conservatives voted down a motion to open up the province's outdoor activities (golf, tennis, soccer). But, in their plan to come off trying to look like "heros" (after all, there is a provincial election in about 12 months), they have said the opening date of June 2nd, may come earlier.

We have about 6 months of golf up here. The government has taken away about 6 weeks so far. That's a little over 20%. I'm sure our club will not refund any of that portion of money already paid. Smh!

I went golfing with a couple friends. Just 3 of us. As we got to the 18th hole the patio at the 19th hole looked crowded and no social distancing. ;) Then we went to the parking lot and a group of guys were having a tailgate party....

Numbers are coming down here. Big push on to get everyone at least 1 shot by June. They clued in that they needed to hit the ethnic groups with messaging in appropriate language and group influencers to do some in person explaining. Now the suggestion is to go to their places of worship but they are holding their ground at the moment that everyone has to go to the huge clinics that have been set up.

Still not going over to Mom's yet. The kids haven't been called for their appointments yet.

Oh, speaking of kids... As of today 12-17 can register and get an appointment for their vaccination.

We have restrictions in place until after the Victoria Day weekend (May 24 is the holiday). Even if Dr. Henry lightens up - it won't be "a flick of a switch" back to "normal", it will be slow.

I have no idea what this potential early opening will look like as far as the clubhouse and patio goes. Last year, they had an outdoor bbq eating/drinking area outside the main building, where people could gather (distance for the most part) and could enjoy a bite to eat and beverage before/after the round. I assume they'll have that sort of thing again if open-air dining/drinking is once again allowed in the province.

With the anticipation the province opening to golf this coming Tuesday, I've already got a morning round already booked. (put happy dance here ;) )

Well, the premier is opening golf (and other outdoor activities) as of Saturday. A couple of minutes after hearing that news on the presser this afternoon, I went to my computer, the booking site was already open in my browser, and when i clicked anything - the site crashed!

You could call it "Ontario golfers going nuts"!!

LOL. Our golf sites you can only book 1 week in advance so if you want to golf next Sunday you have to stay up Saturday night or get up really early Sunday am to book.

We are still under restrictions till end of May long weekend. Hints that some restrictions maybe let up...

Hope the party animals this weekend haven't ruined it for the rest of us. They may have to extend restrictions for another 2 weeks if people have been bad. :x

I managed to book rounds pretty much every day next week, with the idea of cancelling those days that the developing weather is not good, or surprise commitments come up that I cannot change.
