To me, it's not about how many people uses that kind of words, you may also find other forums that allows it, but that does not mean that this forum should allow it :)

CNN just did a mention of this on the air this morning, and the anchor said this message should apply to Americans as well.

I think our regions is about to be shut down. Two areas are hot spots, and will ruin it for everyone else. I'm not really affected by this because, in reality, I've been living like I'm in a shut-down anyway. I only get out for groceries, pharmacy needs, and once a month for gas - to keep the tank from dropping below half.

That is also one of the things i think about, i am not that social, most of my hobbies are related to electronics and coding, so the restrictions are not a big problem to me. But for people who are very social, these restrictions must be a living hell for them. The restrictions is really against human nature.

Calling them names for doing a hickup in these times, properly won't help the situation.

I now some schools over here have been temporarily closed, so there may be other restrictions on the way here to.

This latest second wave, or as some refer to it as "the wave on top of the second wave", is stretching medical services like before, but the difference now, is that they know more and are at least better equipped to manage the Covid issue, than in the spring. And that's not saying much.

Our October thanksgiving holiday I'm sure is responsible for a large increase in infections here. The US's Thanksgiving holiday Covid increases are probably only a week away. And basically, Christmas will be very subdued. My heart goes out to the kids because of all that's going on.

I really don't know how businesses are going to survive. Small and large businesses alike are being impacted. Large department stores are at the brink of closing. Mall stores are closing. Mall owners won't be getting rent from those businesses closing. Governments are handing out money left-and-right. It'll take decades to pay all this money back. It'll be a year or two before businesses can say they've recovered, or at least somewhat recovered. Said by those businesses who survive, that is.

This issue could have been minimized, and I don't say this because hindsight is 20/20.

To clear something up that maybe a misunderstanding.

The label being discussed here is not applied to someone who had a hiccup in their COVID prevention practices. The people who are being called out/labelled this have a blatant disregard for health officials recommendations and orders to help curb the virus.

Last night a local celebrity lost his almost 20 year job for planning to be a key attendee at an anti mask rally today (which is against Provincial Health Officer orders regarding gatherings). Was it worth it? Only time will tell... But his now former employer thought it was worth protecting the reputation of their organisation when a high profile employee is going to blantantly break the law in public with the media watching.

Even after being given both vaccine shots, the scientists don't really know whether someone can pass the virus on to someone else. Apparently, they'll have a better idea sometime early next year.

At least here, based on a "best guess", it's looking like the general population (those under 70 and the those not on the "first in line" list), won't be getting the vaccine until probably early summer.

What I find confusing is, the CDC states that older adults, especially those over 85 years of age, have the greatest risk of severe illness, while adults in their 60's who are also at much higher risk than those in their 50's or 40's, are lumped in with the younger population, who are pretty much last on the list to get the vaccine. I'm not sure I agree with being lumped in the same group as those in their 30's, or even 40's.

In all honesty, although some people in their 60's here can be a bit confused with the guidelines, most are following guidelines. And again, as I mentioned previously, although we are not in a "lockdown" yet, DW and myself have been, for the most part, living like we are in lockdown. I'll admit, we once went to the mall about a month ago. But it was straight in, right to two stores we had need to visit, then out. No lingering, no "bite to eat", no window shopping.

Oh ya, I forgot. I went to the liquor store one time in the past 8 weeks or so and needed help with "the box" out to the car, but I can't remember what was in the box, nor why I was there. ;)

The last part above - it's my story and I'm stickin to it!!

Exciting news today in Canada.

Health Canada approves Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine and our Provincial Vaccination Committee members just wrapped up a press conference regarding vaccine distribution in British Columbia.

The UK also approved Pfizer and started vaccinations yesterday with a warning today: U.K. to refine allergy warning on Pfizer vaccine sparked by two adverse reactions

We will still have to take precautions into next summer/fall but there is light at the end of the tunnel!

If i was Canadian i think i would still be a little worried since the vaccine does not not seem to be tested that well. But i do hope that it is a good well working vaccine :)

I won't be allowed in line for the vaccine until probably the beginning of summer, at the very earliest. Hopefully they'll have the kinks worked out by then.

The husband of a DW friend passed this week at age less than 60.

Case counts at an all time here and yet they are going to let the bars reopen on Monday. Not allowed to say what I think!

Though I will be 70 next month I don't want the vaccine for 6 months until the live trial is finished.
