Mother Nature is giving our interior a beating. Forest fires everywhere. People calling for a state of emergency but all resources are being used as it is. Outside sources are busy with their own forest fires.

Might not be the best time to ask other countries for help, but there is countries without so many trees that may be able to help. COVID-19 probably has also eaten some countries resources. But if you can get some help, it might be better then nothing. Hope the best for you Canadians :)

It seems Alberta is leading the way on average for wildfires since data collected as of 2019. With the dry conditions, I would assume it's only going to get worse.

While in Alta two years ago, it was a cool 16C on a daily average for the first two weeks in July.

State of Emergency issued this afternoon. Doesn't make much difference. They have all resources tapped out as it is. Just means Province can order places for people to stay and hijack machinery if necessary.

On a local front, no smoke here yet but apparently high winds and thunderstorms predicted for the south east of the province which might send smoke to the coast.

Half of deck floor repaired and painted in last 2 days. We are kind of locked in because they did some work on the road in front of our place so can't get out till tomorrow afternoon. An outdoor table got stained also.

A very warm, humid day in store for us here today. All the trees, flowers, shrubs and grass are growing like crazy around here. So much moisture and warm conditions. I wish we could give up some of the wet conditions here for for BC and AB who need a good solid rain for a day or so to help with the wildfires. Mind you, we've got some 160+ fires currently active in our province. Less than BC, of course, as we've not had the hot dry weather.

Yup still pretty hot and dry here. BC has a heat wave warning this weekend PLUS the forest fire smoke could hit the South Coast starting today through Monday.

Yesterday was border line kitty distress mode. Took them outside for a while even though it wasn't that much cooler outside. About 10pm took the older bigger one out again. He was looking a little hot.

Today...
Cooler so far even though today was supposed to be one of the hotter days of the heat wave.

And excitement! Thunder and bit of rain on the South Coast. Never seen so many locals on Twitter excited to see 5-30mins of rain!

Plan was going to start painting the house today. Now have to wait a bit for the siding to dry.
