I have a GPS watch, but for some reason, this year, the golf club decided to create 6 sectors on each green, on each nine of each course. We used to have red, white and blue flags. Red being at the front of the green, white in the middle and blue for the back part of the green.

However, this year, for example, on the 1st and 9th hole on any of the three courses, they've attached a number between 1 and 6 to the yardage sign/post to denote that specific "9 holes" would be using a specific sector number where the flags will be located. On each green, the 6 sectors are numbered differently. For example, if the first nine is using sector 3 as the flag location, the first pin might be front left. On hole two, sector 3 might be back right, and so on for each of that particular nine's greens. The sector number would change for the back nine.

The difference between front and back flag locations, for example, might be 15 to 20 yards. So, when you get to the "hitting the green spot" on a fairway, knowing how far the flag is, can be a factor in club choice. The range finder will give pretty accurate numbers.

For the most part, I still try for the middle of the green. If the flag is at the back of the green, and the middle of the green is the upper range distance of a specific club I'd be using, I'll club up for a little longer shot. Hopefully, I'll not hit it too pure and go off the back of the green.

Well we have been under a heat dome since last Friday. Not much getting done around here. We are not use to this heat. Pretty stressful Monday trying to keep the cats cool. No air conditioning so we had to wet them down a lot. Have the scratches to show for it. LOL

Lytton BC broke the highest temperature 3 days in a row!.

Today is cooler but still going to be warm for at least a week.

The heat wave is moving East...

Please take care in that heat :)

I'm glad it's not that hot here. We have had rain for the last coupler of days.

Well now we have a forest fire problem.

Lytton burnt to the ground Wednesday night.

Next problem could be smoke (like last summer) coming down to the south coast from the interior or up from the west coast of the USA fires.

The hanging baskets took a beating in the heat. Front lawn dried up.

Wow. Sorry to hear. I've been watching the news and it's looks devistating. The long range looks like it's going to cool down a bit, but not much rain in sight. :(

Here's hoping you get some rain soon.

The Lytton fire has merged with an existing fire outside of town.

Forensic team was waiting to enter Lytton this afternoon. Hazmat crew had to give the all clear first.

On a sort of happier note, went for lunch at a little burger joint just after it opened so it wasn't busy yet. Crew were wearing masks. Only 1 customer came in without a mask. He waited for his order then left. Outside in the outdoor mall mostly older people were still wearing masks. Some 20somethings but not many.

Still kind of warm today. Almost 30C in the shade at our place.

I really hope you get some rain or cooler temps out there. I wish we could give you some of our rain. :(

I think we still have to wear masks until Dougie decides we're ready for the next phase, which by all accounts, should be in another week or two. Regardless, DW and I will be wearing masks while out, except if we dare try a restaurant when they open, but I think not - for now.

Heat wave with high humidity started here yesterday, but there are thunderstorms ahead for the next 4 days. So, other than early tomorrow morning, not much chance of golf till Monday. :(

We have a roller hose holder that is a PIA so we are building a free standing fixed hose holder instead of putting holes into the house.

Also on project list for today: Build a screen for one window that is missing a screen and fix clogged bathroom sink...

The roller hose-holder wheels, at least in my experience, all leak to some degree at one time or another. I have one in the garage (for use in the front yard) and one in the backyard on the brick wall part of the house. For either one, I have to pull out the hose, turn on the pressure, then slightly roll the wheel holder a part revolution either way, until I find a spot that negates the leak.
