Got some silicone garage door lubricant and a small scrubbing brush to clean the tracks. Hopefully that will work. Probably not helping a bunch of cat/dog hair in the rail.Colbyt wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 2:51 pmIf frozen or icky from old oil I would use a penetrating oil like PB Blaster or liquid wrench (WD in a pinch). Then for lubrication I would use a spray silicone. You might also use a light machine oil but I feel like I get less buildup with the silicone.
While you have the door or screen down scrub the track really well and resist the urge to lube it.

Oh fun! Baby proof the place before they come over!LMD wrote: ↑Thu Apr 08, 2021 12:40 pm Older junior and his GF, together, decided to get a little pupper. His GF's previous dog passed in January, and she felt a need to get another dog. So, she and junior decided to get one from a local breeder. The pup is living at her place right now, and they're bringing him over here on Saturday hopefully only breaking in my lawn with it's "business", and not the rugs inside.

Re: Passing the Time at Home
Supposed to be lovely and sunny here for the next week. Pretty windy today. Trying to get a couple of rounds in while the weather is nice.LMD wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 5:08 pmWent out to the local driving range yesterday, as our club range won't be open till next week. The new clubs make a real difference, but not obvious distance increases because the wind gusts were pretty wicked yesterday. It seems with unusually good weather, there is normal weather in behind it, and it comes in with a lot of bravado.
Tomorrow looks absolutely perfect and we get to meet Henry, my son and his GF's new pupper.

Re: Passing the Time at Home
Funny link!
What an experience. A very tiring experience. I had no idea an 8-week old puppy had so much energy, then poof - out like a light for an hour passed out and recharging. But what a cute puppy. He'll be staying overnight on Friday with the kids here, and they're bringing a baby gate so he can have some time alone in a spot in the kitchen, and not need being tended to constantly so he won't sneak off somewhere in the house. I hope the weather is good!

Re: Passing the Time at Home
At junior's GF's house, he's learning that if he stands up against the gate, he can pull it over. Probably found out by accident because when he pulls it down, he's actually pulling it down on himself. Kind of a way out, but with a little pain.
They're bringing Henry (the pupper) and the gate over here tomorrow, so I'll have a look at what I can do to kind of keep him in the kitchen area now and then to give the owners a rest. He's certainly a handful!

Re: Passing the Time at Home
So, we got a real cold spell here for a couple of days. I thank my relatives in Alberta for this!
Today I woke up to about 2" of snow on the grass and little tree bud/leaves covered with snow as well. It mostly melted by afternoon, but there's a "hard freeze" happening overnight, which, IMO, is worse than a little dusting of snow. Anyhow, yesterday afternoon, I had to put the wicker furniture in the garage, cover the hydrangeas with little "plant huts" and just hope/pray that everything else that has poked out from the ground doesn't freeze and die tonight.
