Re: Passing the Time at Home
Rain this morning - sunny and warm this afternoon. It's like the tropics - sort of. I'll tell ya, I've not seen the grass looking this much like a green carpet in a while. Good thing I got out yesterday to cut and trim it all.
DW wants us to go to the golf practice range later on. I think she's got the golf bug.

Re: Passing the Time at Home
We got well over an inch in a couple of hours this morning and may get another. Someone close will get it if we don't.
Glad I picked all the almost ripe maters yesterday or they would be cracked from the excess water this morning. It might be an early end to my mater season.

All we grew this year was some parsley and another herb that I can't remember, in pots on the steps just outside the back slider door. We used to have a raspberry patch that was always nice to have, but it got pulled for something more flowery to take it's place.

Being pretty quiet this weekend. We are socked in with smoke from the Western USA forest fire smoke. For a city that usually ranks very environmentally friendly we were at the top of the list of most polluted air yesterday.
It is supposed to get a bit better later today. Just watched an Environment Canada guy on the news. The smoke could start moving East even as far as Ontario and Quebec.

I'm fairly sure that we already have some high in the atmosphere. Much more cloudy than normal the last few days. No smell.

The pictures coming online showing the golden gate bridge mid day, which looks like twilight is strikingly scary.
The satellite images are even more frightening.

Re: Passing the Time at Home
In terms of new golf clubs, I don't know if I've mentioned this here or not, but the lofts on the new clubs are way different than slightly older sets.
My Titleist AP2 (712) 5i is rated at 27°loft, and if I hit it good, it goes about 175 yards.
The TaylorMade Sim 7i is rated at 28.5°loft.
So, when someone says they hit their 7i 175 yards, I used to think, wow, I wish I could do that.
But in reality, I do, but with my 5i, which is almost the same loft as the new 7i.

Know your tools and use the right one, titles don't matter.
