Don't take it personal. :)

Got up @ 5.30 so as to be ready to roll the stain at 7. Was done with the the first coat of half the deck at 7.45. That Cabot solid color stain goes on smooth.

It is true.

Golf is a very "heady" game. The least little noise, adverse lie, breeze etc, can affect the results. Clearly, it can affect the amateurs way more than the pros. The pros have head psychologists, and sports therapist they can consult with at their leisure.

When I was in AZ at the local course, DW and I were paired up with two young guys. They liked to play music on the course, at the tees, in the fairway, and to a lesser degree, near the greens. I didn't mind it - as long as it was a song I didn't hate.

Pretty sure I would not care for music while golfing.

I didn't mind it on the fairways so much when their cart was near ours as we were taking our turn hitting, and even on the green it was not a big deal as the carts (where the music was originating from) weren't that close.

But, when we get to the tee boxes, the cart paths are very close to the tee area and to me, it's a little distracting to hear Matchbox 20's "All Star" when trying to get ready to hit the ball. Mind you, I might get used to it over time, which is what I'm sure happened to these two young guys. But for now, I like to gather my thoughts and focus on getting everything I need to do together, prior to swinging. I have so much going against me now, so listening to music while I'm swinging, is either going to be the magic cure, or make things much worse.

I'm thinking the latter. ;)

In my case it would be worse.

A guy that used to help me with the rentals loved his music and it was not my style. The happiest day of my life was when he discovered music on the phone and headphones.

Only 3 more hours until my second coat on the deck should be 100% rain safe. As hot as it is out there 1 more hour should be safe from all but a downpour.

I may take a nap. Sort sleep and up before the summer sun 2 days in a row has me worn out. :)

In the past in go - no go situations I won a lot more than I've lost but the no go and then no rain total is by far the larger number so today I rolled the dice.

I went from 7-7.30 this morning, the second coat is always faster than the first.

The nap was a failure but laying down with the pillow on my head was refreshing and I will now make through the day.
