In memory of Deepsand. It seems as every year goes by, the circle of friends/members of forums etc, becomes smaller. I'm hopeful that this forum will be around next year, as it's the only active online forum I'm still part of. Perhaps nothing will change, and fingers crossed I'll be here next year to revive this thread and remember DS. I remember him as one of the most knowledgeable (on just about everything), and sure, annoying to some, online poster I've ever known. Here's hoping I can revive this thread and post here again next year.

Have been thinking about closing it, but that is only if nobody finds it useful. So if you enjoy using the website, then i will make sure to have it running.

To stay on topic, another RIP for you DeepSand.

I'll certainly chime in now and then. Too bad the others have taken a step back. That being said, it might not be cost-effective to keep something afloat with only one conversation going on now and then. There certainly might be the possibility, that someone else, other than spammers, might join and legitimately chime-in on some of the various topics.

I honestly don't have any serious costs running the website, its running on my server in my apartment. I have two other websites on it to, so the server has to be running anyways. Only extra cost is renewing the domain once in while, and that is not problem. So if you find it useful and like you said, there may be others in the future who would find it useful to then i will just let it run. I am ready to give some coding advise if somebody needs it :)

So no issues with costs of running the website :)

Allow me to add: may be gone but is not forgotten. I'm sure he is causing some mischief wherever he landed. :)

In light of not being around much any more, I thought I'd post perhaps one last time in this thread on Deepsand's passing, since today is the anniversary of his passing. The other forums I was active in, where he posted regularly, have been gone for quite a while, and I thought he deserved another mention from myself. So, I'd have to say (and probably will be repeating myself) that I looked forward to logging in to the various forums he participated in, on any given day, to see what he may have posted. Usually it had something to do with correcting someone, giving some advice on just about any topic you could think of, or even stirring the proverbial pot. Anyway, another year has passed, and I wanted to give him one last mention. RIP Deepsand - hope you are well, wherever you are.

I'm pretty sure he is well and raising some wherever he might be.

My annual contribution to the memory of Deepsand.

I sometimes think about the old WPW forum way back when I was just a contributing member, and later on when myself and the other Admin (sorry, I can't remember his name) were dealing with all the spam and link-dropping posts, of which there were many.

Anyhow, I remember logging on in the morning, just to be welcomed by a couple dozen or more "reported posts", of which DS authored at least 99% of them. ;)
