It has become a challenge when you eat at home 8 nights a week.

Here's a couple of easy suggestions.

Use flour tortillas for the crust and make something close to a wood fired pizza when you cook it at 425 on parchment paper (no pan, no stone). If you don't overload them they cook in about 6 minutes.

Hamburger steaks with lots of brown gravy and sauteed onions, mashed potatoes on the side and nuked one for jr.

For a longer but excellent meal. Smoke a hunk of brisket on the bbq for about 30 minutes, turning often to sear and smoke. The finish it with a little sauce in a a tightly cover pan in a 225 degree oven for about 4 hours. Melt in your mouth goodness. Really cold out? You can sear stovetop and use liquid smoke.

And for the finale:

Ingredients

• 1 lb chicken breast
• 1 cup ½ & ½
• 2 tbsp Butter
• 1.5 tbsp tomato paste
• 2 cloves garlic
• 1/4 medium Onion
• 1.5 tsp turmeric powder (subbed 1tsp curry powder)
• 1 tsp ground ginger
• 1 tsp Pink Himalayan Salt
• 3/4 tsp chili powder (scant)
• 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (1/4)
Instructions
1. Cut the chicken up into bite sized chunks and generously coat them in the turmeric, ginger, salt, chili powder and cinnamon. Set aside in a bowl.
2. Heat a skillet to medium heat and add the butter. As the butter melts dice the onion and garlic and add it to the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onions are translucent and fragrant.
3. Increase the pan heat to medium-high and add the chicken. Cook it almost entirely through - the outside should be white and this will take about 3-5 minutes.
4. Once the chicken looks almost fully cooked add in the heavy whipping cream and tomato paste. Using a spatula mix in the tomato paste so it runs smooth through the heavy whipping cream. It should be an orange color at this point. Turn the heat to medium-low and cover with a lid for 5-7 minutes.
5. Remove lid and combine. The chicken is fully cooked and you should be able to eat it. However, if you like a thicker curry sauce allow it to reduce with the lid off until it reaches the consistency you like.

Serve with your favorite rice.

Planning on tacos tonight prior to the game. Pretty easy to make, and it's something that all 4 of us like. No "odd man out" tonight. ;)

Have you ever made taco sliders? Much easier on the cook. Big chips servered with small bowls of meat, cheese, beans and lettuce. Each person assembles their own.

Sounds a little like nachos, without cheese and the heating in the oven?

Someone, somewhere may serve nachos like that but all the ones I have ever seen utilize a very messy cheese sauce and very little meat. Plus they load them up in the kitchen a they are a soggy mess by the time they get to the table.

Something new tonight. Pulled pork tacos on flout shells. Not going to Chimichanga like Emerial did on the show we watched the other night.

We make our own nachos. Lots of meat, enough cheeses and sauce. The bottom chips are rarely soggy.

I actually have to make two batches. One plate is not nearly enough with both boys at home.

Have you ever heard of doing this with your ground beef?
...It’s called “sodium bicarbonate,” but is known to most as “baking soda,” and adding it to your ground beef helps keep it tender while also speeding up the browning process....
You Should Add Baking Soda to Your Ground Meat

Never heard of using baking soda that way. Huh...

Well, older junior and his GF made 3 huge plates of nachos, similar to the way Jack Astor's makes them apparently (She used to work there). They were really good, but we had to put one plate in the fridge for lunch tomorrow - maybe!

Baking soda is used when making pretzels to brown it. I don't think I want it on my hamburger.
