I'm pretty sure I won't. Sounds like my kind of food. I will need to grind some pork as I think I used all I had.

Re: Creative Cooking While in Self Isolation
I like SJ's but not from the can or packet mix. This is based on a compilation of several recipes I found online.Accrete wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 3:00 pm I'm not big on these but maybe you guys would like them: Homemade Sloppy Joes
Sloppy Joes for 2
1/2 pound ground beef
8 oz tomato sauce
1 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
2 TBS Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 clove real garlic cooked with beef
1 TBS tomato Ketchup
1 TBS diced red bell pepper (optional)
Cook beef with salt, pepper, and garlic slices. Drain if needed, add remaining stuff and simmer until it thickens just a bit.

Re: Creative Cooking While in Self Isolation
I'm going to suggest this for a SJ night. I'm tired of having to cook up the same old stuff. Which, I do know, this thread is all about.

With your herd it may become a triple batch. You may not need 3 times the tom sauce. IMO it is better when not so soupy the bun falls apart.

I'll let you know how well it is received. In all honesty, if we were having spaghetti and meat sauce, and it were up to me, I'd pass on the pasta, and pile the sauce on a couple of slices of french loaf for my din.

Do you ever liberally cover the noodles with cheese before the hot gravy ( RIP Snakeair)?

Only when baking the noodles (elbows or spirals) in a casserole dish, like a Ziti meal. And, the meat sauce goes on top of the noddles first, then the mozzarella and parm cheese.

Baked is more work and heat. You might be surprised at how good it can be when you just add some cheese on top of the hot noodles and the the sauce. My favorite way to do it.

Burgers and chips. That is what is for dinner. Now if only I had a real tomato for those. If I can find enough red cherry ones I may slice those. I have a ton of green slicers but no ripe ones yet.
