Once the main contributors began showing up less often it was quite a different feel.

Roy and I were the remaining Admins, and the Mods who attended the forum regularly, were stopping by less and less. Once that trend became more prevalent, the spammers and those looking to get back-links and selling their junk there became rampant. There wasn't a day that went by near the end that I didn't ban at least a dozen spammers and delete all their junk.

So, the "good" conversations and good contributions decreased, the site was attacked a couple of times and went down each time. I guess the owners figured they were not getting the required traffic and advert click thru's, and it was more hassle to keep it going, so the last time it went down, they didn't even try to restore it.

They said they were looking into the issue, but ultimately it was gone at that point. And, they didn't even say thanks for all the "free labour" work we put in to help keep it going.

And that, as they say, was that.

V7N also ended up hacked, so members had problems logging in, if they didn't check the "Remember me" checkbox. The Google recaptcha had to be updated, so users could not create an account there either. We could not get hold of the owners, so the website just had to die. Strange that some people run a website that way.

Anyway, i'am glad that you're still posting on this forum :)

Currently working on creating some phpBB extensions, since some of them stopped working after the last forum update on Informed Webmaster.

Well, i decided to make a SEO extension for this forum since i was starting to get some issues with the one we where using(it wasn't compatible with never versions of phpBB). It did take a some time to create, but i am happy with the result. We use it to rewrite the forum urls.

By the way FYI, we no longer have any post count requirements in the Marketplace.

Well, it looks like we finally might be getting a bit of snow. Maybe it'll be a white Christmas after all. Going to be driving thru KY the end of next month on our way to the sunshine state, for some sunshine, golf and probably lazing around the pool a bit too.

Last year I went thru WV, but I think got lucky with the good weather. I understand it can get nasty driving through there what with the highway elevation of hills and then valleys. ;)

If that is your desire, I hope you get it. The grass well covered and the roads clear is the way I like it.

We are having thunder storms so something might blow into town.
