Re: Creative Cooking While in Self Isolation
I never liked frozen / thawed bread. Sometimes you have to but it would not be my preference.
I would attempt baking my own before I relied on frozen.

It's actually not that bad. Of course I'd rather have fresh bread - either from the supermarket or home-made. But I don't want to go out every other day, and I have not, and probably won't baked bread either.
Note: I love bread. I could live on bread and cheese - really.

I freeze bread and buns because I watch for sales.
We did have a bread maker and made a loaf every week. Kind of lost interest in doing that.

Wife has made something like that full size on a pre-made Graham crust for years. Slightly better the second day as it sets better. This is the original recipe: http://thetinkeringspinster.com/the-ori ... heesecake/

Re: Creative Cooking While in Self Isolation
Wife came home with some really ripe good smelling strawberries.
I wanted strawberry shortcake. Had no shells.
So I made my own. This is a real simple hack.
Mix up a box of yellow cake mix designed for a 9x13 and pour the mix into a half sheet pan (or use 2 9x13).
Cooks in about 15 minutes or half the time on the box.

That meal is very hard to beat! It is one of our favorites.
For the little cold spell we endured I made a pot of beef-veggie soup out of the top sirloin trimmings. That was Tuesday and Thursday dinner for 3.
Now I have to figure out something for tonight. I think I am in the mood for simple, from on hand stock and tasty.

That looks interesting except maybe for the dill weed but I am mostly a salt and pepper guy. Sometimes a bit of garlic.
