As online shopping grows each of us have different experiences going through the process at the checkout on an ecommerce site.
Consumer expectations have never been greater within today's digital commerce landscape, as uncertainty drives consumers to demand real-time transparency, accuracy, and seamlessness throughout each stage of the purchase journey.

At the time of checkout, simplicity reigns, as frictionless, accurate, and instant calculations bolster consumer trust, and flexible delivery options ensure consumer affinity. As such, customers anticipate diverse payment options, accurate calculations, and security at the time of checkout.

I ranted somewhere, not sure it was here.

My ultimate suggestion for all e-commerce people is that if shipping is not free, allow me to get an estimate by only entering a state / zip. I am not going to fill out a complicated form with my personal info just to get a shipping estimate. Otherwise I just leave.

Related to shipping: State specifically if you ship internationally. Huge frustration to find something on a site then find out they do not ship outside their own country (or charge an exorbitant fee to do so).

I usually deny automated location scripts. Would rather fill in my postal code to get shipping estimate. Oh, speaking of postal codes (a Cnd thing eh)… a hint that you don't want to ship outside the USA would be accepting US postal codes only. If that wasn't the intent of the shop owner - then fix it!

Here are 6 Tweaks to Streamline the Checkout Process

Regarding the payment processing error part..
I noticed that not many sites tell you up front to make sure the name and address you enter for billing address must match the address on your credit card statement for it to go through.
