DIY Lightbox for Product Photography

Post by Accrete »

If you can't afford a fancy lighting setup for your product photography there are a number of DIY Lightbox articles around.

Here is one from Digital Photography School: How to Make a DIY Lightbox for Product Photography

Have you ever built your own lightbox?

I have a tear down one and I bought cheap lamps from Walmart as the light source.

I thought we discussed this already.

Yes. I made my own out of drapery casement and pvc pipe. Did I not upload those images?

If your 'cheap lamps' are 5500K they are as good as anything. You would need to spend a small fortune to buy better.

I have some cheap photo stands, currently confiscated, by DW to light her succulent collection but those $8 clamp on work lights are just as good provided you have something to clamp them on.

I haven't set up my stuff for a while but one thing I remember from the past is it would be better to find a spot to set it up where you can leave it up so all the items have the same lighting if doing a set of similar items. That or draw yourself a map of where everything was.
